Milonga Finder Valencia ("we", "the site") is a non-profit directory of milongas and tango events. This page explains what information we collect, why, and what rights you have over it.
What we collect
- Event search: if you use "Events near me", your browser sends us your approximate location only to calculate distance to events. We don't store this location on any server or database.
- Language preference: we save your language choice (English/Spanish) in a technical cookie so we don't ask on every visit.
- Cookie consent: we save your choice about analytics cookies in a technical cookie.
- Usage statistics (Google Analytics): only if you accept analytics cookies in the consent banner. See our Cookie Policy for details.
- Admin accounts: organizers who manage the site have an account with an email and password (stored encrypted, never in plain text). This does not apply to site visitors.
- Contact form: if you use the contact form, the name, email, phone (if given) and message you write are emailed directly to the site's team so we can reply. We don't store this in any site database — it only exists as the email we receive.
We don't require visitors to register or create an account. We don't collect contact details unless you use the contact form or choose to email us directly.
Third-party services
We use the following external services, each with its own privacy policy:
- Google Analytics (only with your consent) — anonymized usage statistics.
- OpenStreetMap / Leaflet — to display event location maps.
- Nominatim (OpenStreetMap) — to convert addresses into coordinates when an event is created (used internally by organizers, not by visitors).
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data we may hold about you, and to object to its processing. Since this site doesn't require registration, in practice this mainly concerns cookies (see our Cookie Policy) and any email you've sent us directly.
